The Railway Tavern on Old Kerry Road in Newtown is a traditional cosy pub that welcomes customers of all ages.

The Railway enjoys the company of many regular, loyal customers that have been drinking here for decades and have embraced the friendly and warm atmosphere.

The Railway has been a public house since the 1800’s and has had many owners including the Pryce Jones family who owned it for a short period before selling it back to the brewery.

David Jones aka Taff became the landlord in 1982.

Taff and his late wife Eileen ran the pub together until Eileen’s passing in 2017.

Taff is the longest serving landlord in Newtown, 39 years is no mean feat. Taff has many a tale to tell of his adventures whilst running the Railway and is still a regular at the pub and always happy to share stories with customers old and new.
