A FIRE tore through a home after a tumble dryer fault in Prestatyn.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service sent three crews to the incident on Seabank Drive just before 3.30am on Monday, May 17.
A fire spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.27am after a shed fire spread to the roof space of two properties. The fire started in a tumble dryer in the shed.
“Crews from Rhyl, Prestatyn and St Asaph attended.
“Occupiers received precautionary check at the scene by an ambulance crew.”
Following the incident, the fire service has reissued its advice on ensuring tumble dryers are fire safe. This includes testing smoke alarms once a week, not overloading plug sockets, switching off the appliance when not in use, and keep the appliance free from clutter to ensure it is ventilated.
