A REVEALING documentary following the career and personal life of football legend Sir Alex Ferguson will be screened at Theatr Colwyn.

Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In is a deeply personal documentary about the former Manchester United manager, from his working-class roots in Glasgow to his career as one of the most successful football managers of all time.

While recovering from the traumatic brain haemorrhage in 2018, Sir Alex intimately recounts details of his life and career, including his legendary 26-year tenure as manager of Manchester United.

The film, directed by Sir Alex’s son, Jason Ferguson, is a moving story about the extraordinary power of memory in which Sir Alex recalls his career vividly – every trophy, every defeat and every player. The 114-minute film spans his successful playing career and prolific goal-scoring at Scottish clubs including Rangers, as well as his move into management, leading Aberdeen to the European Cup Winners’ Cup and his move south to Old Trafford.

The film also features candid interviews with Alex himself, his wife Cathy, his three sons, as well as former colleagues and elite players including Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs and Gordon Strachan.

The documentary will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A that was pre-recorded from the premiere of the film at the Glasgow Film Festival in March.

The screening takes place at Theatr Colwyn at 7pm on Thursday, May 27. For more information and to book visit theatrcolwyn.co.uk
