A MAN ran to three RNLI stations along the North Wales coast to raise much-needed funds for the charity.
Rob Batterbee completed the 19-mile route, which began at Conwy Lifeboat Station at 9am, in under three hours on Saturday, May 1.
It formed part of the RNLI's Mayday Campaign, which encourages members of the public to carry out fundraisers with a difference so that life-saving volunteers can receive up-to-date equipment.
Mr Batterbee ran from Conwy through Llandudno Junction, Deganwy and Penrhyn Bay to Llandudno Lifeboat Station, where he arrived at 9.35am. He then travelled along the coast to Rhyl Lifeboat Station, crossing the finishing line at 11.50am as he was cheered on by RNLI volunteers
The fundraiser so far gathered £800 for the RNLI.
Rhyl RNLI said: "Rob has been training hard and was determined to do us proud on Saturday. He had a welcome greeting when he arrived at Rhyl lifeboat station, by family, crew and fundraisers."
Peter Dean, Rhyl RNLI fundraiser chairman said: "We are all so proud of Rob, and thank him for his efforts to raise money for the RNLI in these trying times."
