SALTROCK will open a store in Llandudno this Friday (April 30).

The Surfwear chain will move into a unit previously occupied by H Samuel on Mostyn Street. For a short period, the unit was utilised by Prom Ally which has now moved into 23 Madoc Street.

A spokesperson from Saltrock said: "Llandudno and Saltrock are a great synergy. Our brand lives well in coastal destinations where our customers still have sand on their feet.

"We are a local, family, fashion surf brand that delivers value and style for those customers that love the sea and outdoors as much as we do.

"We are very excited to be part of the Llandudno family."

The arrival of the new store has allowed the creation of six new job roles.

With Llandudno, Saltrock will have six stores in Wales. They are based in Aberystwyth, Cardigan, Mumbles, Swansea and Tenby.

Saltrock started with brothers Angus and Ross Thomsons. The surfing duo used a homemade printing screen and sold designs from the back of their Austin Allegro.

The two brothers teamed up with surfer Carl Priscott and together they focused on individual graphics, screen printing and tie-dying techniques.

A description on the Saltrock website says: "Thirty years later technology has changed but the Saltrock team are still passionate about unique design, functionality and quality.

"Passionately true to our heritage, we still produce surf- inspired designs in Devon with freedom woven into the heart of our products, that are now shipped all over the world.

"Our unique designs are influenced by our passion for the lifestyle we love. The quality of our products means we regularly see customers in our shops still rocking hard-wearing, iconic designs from the early days of Saltrock."
