WALES is set to bask in sizzling temperatures this week as a Spring heatwave strikes.

Temperatures could hit as high as 21C in parts of North Wales, the Met Office has predicted.

What will start off as a cloudy day with some outbreaks of wind and rain, the weather is set to turn brighter on Monday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Flintshire will see temperatures reach as high as 21C, Wrexham 20C and Denbighshire 19C.

Here's what the Met Office has predicted:

  • Today: A cloudy start with the chance of some patchy outbreaks of light rain. Turning brighter into the afternoon with sunny spells developing from the south. Winds gradually easing through the day and becoming rather warm. Maximum temperature 16 °C.
  • Tonight: During the evening and overnight it remains dry with prolonged clear spells. A chilly night with the risk of a few fog patches. Minimum temperature 1 °C.
  • Tuesday: Lengthy sunny spells throughout the day and feeling warm for the time of the year. Chance of some cloud at times in the far northwest. Light winds. Maximum temperature 21 °C.
  • Outlook for Wednesday to Friday: Sunny spells on Wednesday but turning cloudier later with perhaps a spot of rain. Colder on Thursday and Friday with sunny spells and the risk of an overnight frost.
