A MUM -of-four has released her second children’s book.

Stacey Radcliffe, of Rhyl, has published her second book in the Winnie and Daisy series ‘In Uncharted Waters’.

The book is in tribute to Stacey’s real life French bulldog Winnie who sadly died in August 2020.

The publication also acts as a tribute to her late mother Elizabeth, known as Libby.

Stacey, 38, who is married to Gareth and has children Tyler-George, Theo, Riley and Brodi-Beau, planned her online book launch for March 25, which would have been her mum’s birthday.

Stacey, was diagnosed with Triple-Negative Breast Cancer at the age of 30, said: “Life after cancer can be difficult at times but, life after losing mum is definitely my biggest struggle.

"We as a family know that March is always an emotional month, with Mother’s Day and mum's birthday to prepare for and with life in lockdown already making life that little bit harder, I really wanted to give my family something to focus on and to look forward to.

“I’m sure my mum is standing right beside me on launch day and cheering me on as she always did”.

Stacey wrote her latest book after seeing litter left on the beaches.

The book tells the story of Winnie and Yorkshire Terrier (Daisy) on their next adventure as they dive deep into the "beautiful and enchanting" waters of the Coral Reef.

The dogs swim with sharks, octopus, gobies and snails and singing mermaids "with the longest tails".

Stacey, who happily reports she currently has "no evidence of disease", added: "I found it truly hear-breaking to see the damage and destruction that was caused by rubbish being left, fly tipping and lack of care shown to our environment, sea life and wildlife. I knew straight away that I had to write my next children’s book around this theme and within two weeks, the book was written.

"I wanted to make learning about our oceans and sea life super fun for children and to reinforce the ecological values and the need for commitment to the environment.

"I think reading books about the ocean and the vast number of creatures that call it home is the perfect way to expand a child’s understanding of the aquatic wonderland. With travel restrictions now changing and more people able to travel, I couldn’t think of a more appropriate time to hold the book launch.

"I hope this book inspires others to have confidence to explore the unknown, to help those in need and teaches children to respect the world around them."

Last summer, Stacey published her first book in the series: Winnie and Daisy: The Adventurous Duo.
