AN EIGHT-year-old boy has declared he is 'up for another challenge' after raising more than £400 for charity Kidney Research UK.

Noah Salisbury, of Prestatyn, ran 27.5 miles instead of his target of 25 and raised more than £400 for the charity.

He was inspired to do the challenge after his nanna, Pam Davenport, received a kidney.

Dad Paul Salisbury, 42, said: "Noah took an interest in running as his football has been cancelled so decided to do this challenge to keep fit and raise money at the same time.

"Noah found the fundraiser challenging, fun and rewarding and it helped get him out during the pandemic.

"He carried out his runs throughout Prestatyn, either the prom, the football field with a ball and other different areas in Prestatyn. He did it mostly every day. If he did a longer run, he would have a rest the following day.

"The weather didn't stop him and all runs were recorded with an app."

Pam received a new kidney in March 2005. Pam had suffered from renal failure, since she was 17, due to a throat infection which affected her kidneys.

Paul, who is married to Ruth, added: "It obviously made a tremendous difference to her as she was extremely poorly and has now been able to enjoy her five grandchildren."

Noah has siblings Jack, aged six, and older brother Connor 17.

Paul said: "Noah enjoyed the challenge and is continuing to run. He felt happy, proud and overwhelmed by the support he received from donations and well wishers.

"We are very proud of him as he never moaned once and his mum[Ruth] joined him on the runs with him being only eight."

Noah attends Bodnant Community School in Prestatyn.
