AS levels of coronavirus continue to drop across the country, Public Health Wales can show exactly how different communities in Denbighshire and Conwy compare.

The mapping feature was first added to the daily update provided by health officials in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in October 2020.

It presents data broken down beyond the standard local authority areas that people could previously access and now shows how individual communities compare.

The data is gathered using Office of National Statistics figures of middle layer super output areas (MSOAs) and present the rolling number of cases in either a seven-day or 21-day window.

Darker areas indicate higher concentrations of the virus whilst lighter areas show lower transmission rates.

Here’s what we found in Conwy:

It’s a mixed bag for parts of Conwy.

Areas of the map were split between those where small increase were recorded – six – and those where small decreases were reported – also six. Three areas maintained their rate of coronavirus compared to last week.

The figures reveal that, during the latest seven-day period, the Llanrwst and Betws-y-coed area has recorded the most new coronavirus reports with 19 cases and a rate of 221.0 cases per 100,000 people.

Abergele – 15 cases and rate of 138.0 cases per 100,000 people

Betws-yn-Rhos, Llangernyw and Llansannan – 0-2 cases and rate of less than 29 cases per 100,000 people

Colwyn Bay North – 10 cases and rate of 161.2 cases per 100,000 people

Conwy and Afon Row – Four cases and rate of 56.0 cases per 100,000 people

Kinmel Bay and Towyn – Eight cases and rate of 95.8 cases per 100,000 people

Llandudno Junction North and Deganwy – Seven cases and rate of 72.8 cases per 100,000 people

Llandudno Junction South and Llasanffraid – Five cases and rate of 68.1 cases per 100,000 people

Llandudno South – 12 cases and rate of 171.3 cases per 100,000 people

Llandudno Town and Gogarth – 12 cases and rate of 135.5 cases per 100,000 people

Llanfairfechan and Penmawnmawr – 12 cases and rate of 153.8 cases per 100,000 people

Llanrwst and Betws-y-coed – 19 cases and rate of 221.0 cases per 100,000 people

The map for Denbighshire show a continued effort to repress the virus as almost all areas see another drop in cases compared to last week.

Data shows that the Llangollen and Llandrillo area has been the most impacted area in terms of new coronavirus reports – confirming 16 cases and rate of 249.8 cases per 100,000 people in the last week.

Corwen, Llanelidan and Efenechdyd – 12 cases and rate of 227.1 cases per 100,000 people

Denbigh East and Pentre Llanrhaeadr – Four cases and rate of 60.7 cases per 100,000 people

Denbigh West – Four cases and rate of 76.5 cases per 100,000 people

Dyserth and Tremeirchion – Seven cases and rate of 107.8 cases per 100,000 people

Llandyrnog and Llanarmon-yn-lâl – Five cases and rate of 81.7 cases per 100,000 people

Llangollen and Llandrillo – 16 cases and rate of 249.8 cases per 100,000 people
