AS high levels of the virus continue to be recorded in North Wales, Public Health Wales can show exactly how different communities in Denbighshire compare.
The mapping feature was first added to the daily update provided by health officials in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in October 2020.
It presents data broken down beyond the standard local authority areas that people could previously access and now shows how individual communities compare.
The data is gathered using Office of National Statistics figures of middle layer super output areas (MSOAs) and present the rolling number of cases in either a seven-day or 21-day window.
Darker areas indicate higher concentrations of the virus whilst lighter areas show lower transmission rates.
Below, we took a snapshot look of the latest available seven-day period spanning from January 14 to 20.

Here’s what we found in Denbighshire:
The figures reveal that, during the latest seven-day period, the Rhuddlan and Bodelwyddan area has been recording the most new coronavirus reports with 37 cases and rate of 577.5 cases per 100,000 people.
• Corwen, Llanelidan and Efenechdyd – 19 cases and rate of 359.5 cases per 100,000 people
• Denbigh East and Pentre Llanrhaeadr – 18 cases and rate of 273.3 cases per 100,000 people
• Denbigh West – 12 cases and rate of 229.4 cases per 100,000 people
• Dyserth and Tremeirchion – 14 cases and rate of 215.6 cases per 100,000 people
• Llandyrnog and Llanarmon-yn-lâl – 14 cases and rate of 228.8 cases per 100,000 people
• Llangollen and Llandrillo – 28 cases and rate of 437.2 cases per 100,000 people
• Prestatyn Central and East – 15 cases and rate of 286.8 cases per 100,000 people
• Prestatyn North – 18 cases and rate of 310.0 cases per 100,000 people
• Prestatyn South – Nine cases and rate of 173.0 cases per 100,000 people
• Rhuddlan and Bodelwyddan – 37 cases and rate of 577.5 cases per 100,000 people
• Rhyl East – 27 cases and rate of 247.6 cases per 100,000 people
• Rhyl North – 27 cases and rate of 283.2 cases per 100,000 people
• Rhyl South West – Nine cases and rate of 163.5 cases per 100,000 people
• Ruthin – Seven cases and rate of 124.4 cases per 100,000 people
• St Asaph and Trefnant – 24 cases and rate of 447.8 cases per 100,000 people
