BUSINESSES in Denbighshire are being encouraged to apply for an emergency grant.

The Economic Resilience Fund Sector Specific scheme opens at midday on Wednesday, January 13 and will provide emergency financial assistance to businesses and their employees.

It is for businesses primarily in the hospitality, leisure and tourism sectors, including supply chains, where businesses have been forced to close or have been affected by Welsh Government restrictions which started on December 4.

This scheme is administered by Business Wales.

Cllr Hugh Evans OBE, Leader of Denbighshire County Council, said: “It has been a very difficult period for businesses in Denbighshire and I would encourage those eligible to apply for this Welsh Government funding.

“This scheme has a specific amount of funding so businesses need to apply as soon as possible. The Council understands how important local businesses are to our communities and the local economy and we will continue to work with the Welsh Government to ensure support is available to our county’s traders.”

Businesses are encouraged to use the eligibility checker and read the guidance before applying to ensure they meet the specific criteria. You can find more information at https://fundchecker.businesswales.gov.wales/sectorspecificgrant/
