82-YEAR-old George Morris has become the first inpatient at Glan Clwyd Hospital to receive a Covid-19 vaccine.
Mr Morris, of Llandudno, was an inpatient on ward one at the time on Friday, January 8.
The pensioner was given the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine.
Nancy Saville, 83, from Pwllheli was the first patient at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor to receive the vaccine.
More than 1,000 staff from Ysbyty Gwynedd have now received their vaccination after Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board's third Hospital Vaccination Centre opened.
Hospital Vaccination Centres at Glan Clwyd Hospital and Wrexham Maelor Hospital began vaccinating before Christmas.
The vaccine roll out for frontline staff began at Ysbyty Gwynedd last week.
Adrian Whiteley, a porter at the hospital, was the first member of staff to have the vaccine at the hospital’s vaccination centre.
Barry Williams, hospital director, said: “We are delighted to be able to start vaccinating our frontline staff here at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
“A lot of hard work has gone into this and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff involved who helped make this happen.”
