A 42-year-old mum was jailed for eight months for glassing two men in a drink-fuelled pub rumpus after a darts match.

Melanie Foulkes, of Dawson Crescent, Prestatyn, had been living with one victim but had discovered he had fathered a child with another woman, Mold crown court heard.

She pleaded guilty to two assaults causing actual bodily harm and affray.

Elen Owen, defending, said on seeing Philip Healey it had “tipped her over the edge.”

Barman Lee King was “caught in the crossfire” when trouble erupted at the Rhyl pub.

“She wishes to express her really genuine remorse for her behaviour especially to Mr King,” said the barrister.

Shaynee Foulkes, aged 41, of Bryn Rhosyn, St Asaph, her sister, received a six months suspended jail term with 120 hours unpaid work. She admitted affray in January last year.

Judge Niclas Parry said it was a “disgraceful incident of serious violence.”

Melanie Foulkes was the instigator and used a weapon which caused cuts, the judge said.
