A “manipulative” dad breached a restraining order when he refused to leave his ex-partner’s Prestatyn home, a court heard.
A deputy district judge at Llandudno was told the woman was scared of Robert Winstanley, aged 33, of Victoria Road, Prestatyn.
“I don’t know what he’s capable of,” she said in a victim statement. “He’s very manipulative and intimidating.”
There was a history of violence, the prosecution said.
Winstanley, on a video link from Berwyn jail, maintained he had been invited around to pick up his child. But he admitted breaching the order and possessing cannabis.
A 24 weeks suspended jail term was imposed by judge Roger Lowe who said he had been in custody for three weeks. Winstanley must pay £213 costs.
Judge Lowe said child contact must be done in the correct manner and the mum had been “clearly distressed.”
Defence solicitor Dafydd Roberts said Winstanley understood the relationship was over and intended to move away.
