PRESTATYN church members have placed a white angel made of nearly 200 recycled bottles outside their place of worship.

The Church of the Holy Spirit on Victoria Road used old milk and squash containers to form the shape of an angel to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

A total of 190 bottles were stuck together using the spine of the Christmas tree used by the church last year alongside a plaque explaining what it is made from.

Fairy lights on the angel design are turned on during the evenings.

Reverend Geoff Breffitt said: "As our planned Angel Festival display could not go ahead we decided to make our own and put it outside the church to brighten up the place for Christmas.

"It is a reminder that nothing is ever wasted or ignored by God, and looks forward to the Christmas Hope, the coming of Christ into the world afresh this Christmas.

"A lot of folks have been stopping to have a look and read what it says. A few people have commented that it is really nice and at the moment people want cheering up.

"We are hoping that once Covid is out of the way we can get back to normality, but despite what is happening lessons can be learned from this period that will improve life for people."
