Author of the Month

The Leader:

Nell Grey is a popular author of romantic suspense novels, many of which are set in Wales.

In August 2020 Nell published a two-book series Trust Me, and Find Me. Both novels are tense psychological dramas with powerful love stories. Trust Me begins in Wales on a family farm. But, it soon becomes apparent that in this sleepy rural community, not everything is as it seems. The story plunges into the dark underworld of drug-related crime, slowly unpeeling the truth in a gripping exploration of trust and betrayal.

Find Me continues the story, moving to New Zealand in the search of a new life, and a safe place to hide. Her first series, the Freshwater Bay Novels is a heartfelt family saga. Set in coastal Pembrokeshire, four brothers each face their personal demons as they grapple with life-changing challenges and the glimpse of a brighter future. Praised for her creation of strong female characters, the first book of this series, The Strictly Business Proposal, starts the story with an ambitious London chef. She has the chance of owning a restaurant by the sea. However, if she’s to realise her dream, there are terms to comply with. A partnership with a stranger. A strictly business proposal.

Nell holds an MA in English from Edinburgh University, where she wrote a thesis exploring identity and the psychological facets of duality in literature. Although she lived in New Zealand for a time, Nell now lives in the Wrexham area.

Adolygiad Llyfr Cymraeg ar gyfer plant yr arddegau

Heb Law Mam gan Heiddwen Tomos

The Leader:

Dyma nofel llawn hiwmor a thristwch ar gyfer yr arddegau sy'n adrodd hanes Efa, merch ysgol a'r trafferthion mae'n wynebu gyda'i ffrindiau ysgol tra mae ei Mam yn yr ysbyty ar fin rhoi genedigaeth ond hefyd yn dioddef a gancr y fron. Mae Efa yn wynebu pob math o sialensau yr arddegau, bwlis, athrawon, tad dryslyd, ffrindiau a rhai sydd ddim yn "ffrindiau", hefyd ei chariad cyntaf. Does neb yn deall Efa ond Mam, ond dydi Mam ddim adre a dydi Efa dim eisiau ei thrafferthu gyda'i problemau.

Mae Gwen "ffrind" Efa yn rhoi amser caled iddi ond yn y pendraw mi chaif ei heiddiant.

Dyma stori yn llawn dristwch, anwyldeb a thynerwch ond erbyn y diwedd mae gan Efa digon o bobl i'w helpu wynebu'r sialensiau. Stori gyda lot o hiwmor a dŵdls yn steil y "Dork Diaries."
