ALISON Hammond disguised herself as a golfer as part of a desperate attempt to get closer to the I'm A Celebrity castle.

Donning a visor and club, the presenter tried to approach Gwrych Castle via Abergele golf course during a segment on This Morning on Friday (November 13).

It wasn’t meant to be however, and she was chased away by a security guard in a fluorescent yellow jacket - much to the amusement of viewers and hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

Alison said: “It is not going to be easy. I’m ‘live’ from Abergele golf course. This is actually the closest you can get to the castle.

“You can see the castle beyond the trees however, Gwrych Castle is only going to be got there if I disguise myself. So I’ve got the hat guys, the golf club. I’ve even got my own buggy - check it out.

“I’m going to go off now and pretend to be a golfer.”

A security guard pretended to give chase, as the former Big Brother star shouted: "I'm a golfer! I'm a golfer!”

Playing the role of Security Stu was the club’s professional golfer, Stuart Runcie.

A spokesperson from Abergele Golf Club said: “We had Richard Arnold [Good Morning Britain]; Ria Hebden [Lorraine] and Alison visit us. It was a fantastic morning.

“Alison is the same off screen as she is on screen. She is a fantastic character and so inviting, a really good egg.

“Our professional golfer Stuart filmed with Alison. She called him 'security Stu pot’. It was really good.

“We were out on the balcony and on the course. We were able to but her in the buggy and Stuart was able to get involved and be part of the fun.

“She was chatty with members and really engaging."

The spokesperson added that in the last two days, excitement has reached ‘fever pitch’ in Abergele.

“Everybody is counting down now,” they added.

“It is really exciting.

“Everyone, all the businesses, everyone is trying to do their part to make all involved feel at home and as welcome as possible."
