A SECONDARY school will stage an own clothes day and a series of staff challenges to "brighten up the days" and help disadvantaged young people during the coronavirus pandemic.
Ysgol Dinas Bran has invited pupils to wear their own clothes on Friday, November 13 as part of a charity day for Children in Need. In a letter to parents, the school said teachers will also take part in “funny challenges to entertain pupils,” which will be streamed to classrooms by video link.
“We understand that these are very challenging times for many,” PE teacher and charity group leader Beccy Dew said in the letter. “In light of this, there is no compulsory requirement to donate.
“With so many more people in the UK needing the services that Children in Need support this year they are aiming to raise even more money to support disadvantaged young people across the UK; and we appreciate any donation you would like to make to help us support this amazing charity.
“These are very uncertain times and we believe it is important to spread a little joy to brighten up the days. We hope that pupils enjoy this and it puts a smile on their faces.”
