NOMINATIONS have been extended for a caravan holiday firm's award to celebrate the work of keyworkers that will see them receive a luxury meal and free holiday.

Lyons Holiday Parks, which has sites across North Wales and Cumbria, said its award to celebrate the work of keyworkers and volunteers has received hundreds of nominations - and North Wales residents are being urged to make theirs.

The Lyons Heart Campaign has been extended from December until next year amid concerns over further coronavirus lockdowns, giving people across North Wales the chance to nominate someone they know who has “gone above and beyond the norm to help guide others through adversity.”

The awards ceremony will see recipients attend a drinks reception and luxury three course meal, including tea and coffee, entertainment and an after-dinner party.

The nominations deadline has now been extended from mid-September until February 2021.

Lyons Holiday Parks director Geoff Mound said: “The Lyons Heart Campaign is our way of saying thank you to those heroes who have selflessly put others’ needs above their own throughout this pandemic. Considering the recent surge in cases and another potential national lockdown, we have decided to postpone the awards ceremony until next year when the world will hopefully be a safer place.

“This decision to postpone the event not only prioritises the wellbeing of our staff and nominees, but also offers more heroes the chance of being recognised for their incredible work.”

The overall winners will receive their award at the ceremony, as well as a complimentary holiday at one of the Lyons Holiday Parks. To vote for your hero, visit https://www.lyonsheart.co.uk/nominate/
