A NEW Sports Direct and USC store is coming to Rhyl this winter.

Staff are being recruited for the new ‘elevated’ store which will open in The White Rose Centre.

A spokesperson for the Fraser Group, which owns chains such as Sports Direct, Jack Wills and House of Fraser, said: "This is a major part of Sports Direct’s brand elevation strategy that will see a huge investment in a number of new stores, while also upgrading and improving stores across the UK.

"This is the strategic vision of the business as it aims to meet the demands of an ever more sophisticated customer who is increasingly looking for the biggest and best brands and an enhanced shopping experience.”

Both Sports Direct and USC will come under the same roof.

The exact opening date for the store has not yet been confirmed.

There is also a new addition proposed for Marina Quay in Rhyl.

An application has been submitted on behalf of Scarborough Development Group for signage in relation to drive-thru Costa Coffee.

A covering letter submitted states: "The proposed signage relates only to the plot of the coffee shop with drive-thru facility.

"Over recent years the wider site has been transformed from a derelict piece of land into a modern new retail led mixed-use development with associated car parking.

"The majority of the wider site has now been developed, leaving the area subject to this application vacant.

"This application seeks advertisement consent for the display of signage associated with Costa Coffee across the proposed development and includes: Signage on the south eastern, south western and north eastern façades; Signage on the roof located on the north western elevation; Signage associated with the drive-thru including Illuminated menu boards; Advertisement banners; Pole Signage and addition of signage to Marina Quay shared totem."
