A salesman with a fake CV had tried to get a week’s compassionate leave - by pretending his mum had died, a court heard.
Richard Coleman, 46, of Sileby, Leics, admitted fraud in 2018 and was ordered to do 200 hours unpaid work by a district judge at Llandudno Magistrates Court.
Ruth Lee Ltd at Corwen, which makes rescue training manikins, became suspicious about him and asked to see his mother’s death certificate, the prosecution said.
Judge Gwyn Jones called it a “mean” offence.
