AN uninsured car was seized by police in Meliden after showing false number plate.

North Wales Police’s Roads Policing Unit tweeted that the car was stopped on the A547, outside the Miners Arms pub on Sunday, October 18.

They also found that tyres on the car had become worn and exposed.

Police tweeted several photos including the car, a white Mercedes, adding that the driver is due to appear in court.

“This was stopped in Meliden yesterday displaying cardboard number plates.

“Further checks revealed that the details displayed were not the ones registered to the car.

“No insurance, tyre cord exposed so car seized. An expensive day with a trip to court looming.”
