BUS services have been changed for some school pupils travelling to St Asaph to prevent crowding amid a rise in coronavirus cases.

Denbighshire County Council has issued a new bus timetable for Ysgol Glan Clwyd pupils who get the bus from the Prestatyn area, which will provide separate buses for different age groups.

It means that buses will not stop at every bus stop, and follows similar measures put in place for Rhyl pupils travelling to the school.

"Denbighshire County Council’s Passenger Transport Service, working in partnership with Ysgol Glan Clwyd are introducing changes to the school bus service from the Prestatyn area, in response to the on-going situation with Covid," a council spokesperson said.

"This follows a similar arrangement that was put in place for pupils travelling on buses to the school from the Rhyl area.

"There will be dedicated buses for pupils of certain ages operating from the Prestatyn area to the school. New bus timetable and schedule, together with a list of bus stops and a journey map has been issued to parents and guardians in the Prestatyn area.

It is vital that pupils receive this important information, as not all buses will stop at every bus stop.  This has been introduced to reduce crowding at these bus stops. All pupils travelling on buses to Ysgol Glan Clwyd are expected to wear a face covering at all times."

The bus stops and journey maps are also available on the council website.
