A DAY service for adults were delighted to receive an autographed I’m a Celebrity star signed by presenters Ant and Dec.

Members of the Creative Learning Centre were discussing how exciting it was to have I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! filming near by to them at Gwrych Castle.

As part of a group project, a letter was sent to the production team welcoming them to Abergele.

A response was received as well as an I’m a Celeb star signed by the Geordie duo.

The letter from the production team said: “We hope you like this I’m a Celebrity star that has been signed by Ant and Dec.

“We are very excited to be making our programme in Abergele.

“We hope you enjoy the series this year and we hope to say hello at some point.”

William Roberts, day service support worker and senior member of staff at Creative Learning Centre for Conwy County Borough Council, said: “Our day service recently reopened. We decided that the next group project would be about this years I’m A Celebrity and we sent a letter on behalf of the group to the production team.

“The group were surprised and excited to receive a letter back and the signed star.

“Every member was already a fan of I’m A Celebrity long before they came to Abergele.

“The group have been watching the set being built in Abergele and following the progress on social media,” William added.

“It has given the group a great boost of excitement after being temporarily closed due to lockdown.

“The group are checking the updates daily to see what celebrities will be joining the show.”

The star is on display in the reception area at the day centre.

The Creative Learning Centre is a day service for adults. The relatively new service currently has a group of 12. Creative excursions are put on as well as activities and personal and group projects for the group to develop new skills and creative approaches to learning.

A wide range of subjects are covered including computer skills, art therapy and film-making.

The centre has attended events such as karate workshops and conducted visits to an art gallery, library events and film screenings at TAPE.

William said: “The production manager has also very kindly said they would keep in touch with us throughout production and in the future, will try to arrange a phone call to our day centre from one of the celebrities.”
