THE FOUR pupils and a staff member at Ysgol Bodnant who were told to self-isolate have now been told they can return to school.

Earlier today, Denbighshire County Council said pupils and the staff member had been asked to self-isolate until October 12 to try and reduce the possible spread of Covid-19, in line with Public Health Wales guidance.

NHS Wales Test, Trace, Protect has been working closely with the school, Public Health Wales and the Local Authority.

Following an investigation, they are now satisfied that the children - who had been requested to isolate - have not been exposed to the virus.

A spokesperson from Denbighshire County Council said: "They have been investigating the possibility that a school member had been in contact with someone who was infectious with Covid-19.

"As a result of these investigations they are now satisfied that the students who had been requested to isolate, have not been exposed to the virus at school and that it is safe for them to return to school from tomorrow, Wednesday, September 30."

Parents / guardians have been advised to remain alert for the main symptoms of coronavirus:

A new or continuous cough

A high temperature

A loss of or change to sense of smell or taste

Those advised to self-isolated should book a coronavirus test if they develop any of these symptoms, even if they are mild.

A test can be booked by phoning 119 or online: www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test

A spokesperson from Denbighshire County Council said: "Advice requires those self-isolating to stay at home, not to go outdoors to exercise, to visit shops, family or friends, or to other public spaces. Please do not invite people to your house".
