CONWY Education Service has confirmed that one pupil attending Ysgol Nant y Groes in Colwyn Bay has tested positive for Coronavirus.

Parents and staff have been informed and issued with guidance provided by Public Health Wales.

The North Wales Contact Tracing Service has been informed of the confirmed case and relevant staff and pupils are now being told to self-isolate in line with WG guidance.

They have also been advised to remain alert for any symptoms of the virus, including:

• A new or continuous cough

• A high temperature

• A loss of or change to sense of smell or taste

Those advised to self-isolated should book a Coronavirus test if they develop any of the symptoms. A test can be booked by phoning 119 or through the online portal.

Cllr Julie Fallon, Cabinet Member for Education said, “We are working closely with the school; Public Health Wales and North Wales Contact Tracing Service to ensure that all the appropriate measures are in place to protect pupils, staff and the wider community.”

“Contact tracing is underway and if anyone is identified as a contact of a confirmed case of COVID-19, a contact advisor from Test, Trace and Protect will be in touch with appropriate advice.”
