PERMISSION has been granted for several new homes in Holywell.

A planning application received by Flintshire Council requested permission for the development of a brownfield site in High Street, including the construction of a building to contain nine flats.

The site in question is a plot of land named Raven’s Court, located behind properties in Bank Place,

Design and access documents submitted with the scheme explain: "[The] vision for the development is to provide affordable dwellings within the town centre.

"The applicant wishes to sell the site with planning consent to a purchaser who is looking to develop a scheme for residential purposes with self-contained units (i.e. not a HMO), that vary in size, and be designed in a manner which does not affect right-to-light of the surrounding buildings."

According to the document, the scheme proposed includes four studio flats and five single bedroom flats.

Flintshire Council has recently confirmed that the scheme has been given the go-ahead by planning officers.

The document adds: "The proposal of nine dwellings includes for six car park spaces and turning space within the site.

"The main site access point will be from Bank Place. Vehicles and pedestrians will be separated by there being two gates, one automated for vehicles and the other code

entry for pedestrians."
