DENBIGHSHIRE residents are being warned to keep an eye out for suspicious drones hovering above farms in the county.

North Wales Police's Rural Crime Team are urging those living in the area to remain vigilant and report any sightings which seem to be out of place to 101 so they can deal witht them.

They believe these drones may be being used to target farms specifically as a way of monitoring properties that are best to steal items from.

A spokesperson for the Rural Crime Team said: "We are having reports of drones being seen flying over farms in the Denbighshire area over the last few days, with no reason to be there.

"We are investigating links with people possibly using the drones for surveillance prior to stealing items from farms. Be aware."

The Rural Crime Team covers the whole of North Wales and is made up of a manager, four full time police constables and three full time Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs).

The team analyse crime trends and patterns every day, using the data to target specific problems and focus their resources where they are most needed.
