WREXHAM Council is urging residents to plan their night out in advance.

With many pubs in the town centre and rural areas set to re-open their doors to customers to enjoy a drink inside for the first time this weekend, visitors are reminded to continue to follow the safety measures that will be in place.

A council spokesperson, said: "As there will be restrictions in the numbers of customers allowed in all premises, please plan your night out carefully if you are intending to go out this weekend or in the future.

"Establishments may look very different – there could be screens in place where social distancing cannot be guaranteed or to protect staff or you may not be able to use cash or go to the bar.

"Many pubs will be only open to people who have pre-booked, you will also not be able to stand and drink either inside or outside licensed premises."

The council also highlighted the importance of visitors providing their personal details in order for the Test, Track and Protect system to continue to work, in case any Covid-19 positive cases are identified in any establishment that they may have visited.

Those who do not give their details could be refused entry.

Visitors will also be expected to stick to the social distancing guidelines that will be in place, with many pubs already being visited by the council's licensing team to be advised of what they should be doing to maintain social distancing and hygiene.

The spokesperson added: "If an establishment looks too busy then please don’t visit as this may cause unnecessary problems for staff who may have to ask you to leave.

"Please remember that there are no public toilets available in the town centre."
