A LLANDRILLO woman's charity skydive in memory of her husband has raised £5,200.
Carol Moody's husband Richard, died aged 49 on December 4 2018, having been one of only three people in the UK living with a very rare form of Sarcoma cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Sarcomas are uncommon cancers that can affect any part of the body, on the inside or outside, including the muscle, bone, tendons, blood vessels and fatty tissues.
57-year-old Carol, who works at the Tyddyn Llan hotel and restaurant in Llandrillo, decided to take on a charity skydive in Richard's honour.

On Saturday, she completed the jump at Tilstock Freefall Club in Whitchurch, joined by son Dwayne Owen, 38, and daughter Jodie, 27, and raised a total of £5,200 for the Sarcoma charity.
Following the skydive, Carol said: "After a few hours delay due to weather we eventually got going around 6pm. It was the most amazing experience and a great adrenaline rush for us all.
"The skydive just happens so fast - a few minutes in the plane to climb upto 10,000 ft, then free fall, parachute ride down and before we knew it we were back on the ground, safely I can say.
"We would like to thank everyone for their very generous donations, we set ourselves a target of £1,500 but so pleased to say that it’s now just over £5,200, which is an amazing achievement."
Carol says her husband was the 'sporty' one within the family. He had worked for his own company, Richard Moody Garden Maintenance, for 15 years.
After going to see his local GP with a sore throat, Mr Moody went on to be in hospital for only five weeks before he died.
When asked why she chose to Skydive to raise money, as opposed to taking on a sponsored walk or run, Carol told the Free Press: "I decided to do this skydive, as it’s something which is definitely out of my comfort zone. Richard was the fitness freak of our family and so I could never have cycled, ran or walked like he did.
"It would have been our 30th wedding anniversary on April 28 this year and I had planned to do the skydive in May, but due to the coronavirus this was impossible. I wanted to do something special, so the most fitting thing I could think of doing, especially as he was the adventurous one of the family with his paragliding, scuba diving, shooting and his greatest passion was cycling; is to do a Charity Skydive
