A STAR of a hit Netflix series has appeared in an unexpected video promoting a Wrexham music festival.

In the video Carole Baskin, best known for appearing on Netflix docu-drama 'Tiger King', urged people to buy tickets for Wrexham's Rock the Park 2021 festival.

Baskin, owner of Big Cat Rescue in Florida, gained international notoriety after appearing in the series, watched by a staggering 64 million households, which documented the feud between her and rival private animal park owner Joe Exotic - which escalated to an alleged murder plot.

And in the latest strange turn of events, Baskin has appeared in a video on Rock the Park's Facebook page endorsing the festival - scheduled to take place in August but which has had to be cancelled until next year amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 59-year-old introduced herself with her trademark "hey all you cool cats and kittens, it's Carole Baskin,", before saying "I hope you're looking forward to the headline announcement for Rock the Park music festival in Wrexham 2021," - in reference to festival news being released on Wednesday evening.

She urged fans to "be sure to get your tickets straight after this video before they sell out", which the festival's organisers teased that Baskin has done already.
