STARBUCKS is preparing to reopen its store on the A55 Eastbound near Bodelwyddan.

A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes ahead of the reopening on Thursday, July 2.

With the two-metre social distancing rule still in place for Wales as well as the stay local five-mile travel restriction, the coffee house will be serving take-out only.

Shaun Matthews, who has been store manager at the site since October 2019, said: “We’re all really excited to be reopening again now it’s safe to do so and getting back to what we love doing, making handcrafted drinks for our customers.

“Things will be different from what we’re use to but it’s just getting use to the new normal.

“The staff will be provided with PPE, we will have perspex screens at the tills and where we hand out the drinks, a one way system will be in place for customers with social distancing markers.

“A strict cleaning regime in place throughout the day.”

Opening hours will be Monday to Saturday 7.30am until 6pm and Sunday, from 8am until 6pm.

Shaun added: “Until it’s safe to and the Welsh Government's guidelines change we will be take out only.

“We’re busy behind the scenes fully cleaning and sanitising the store down ready for opening and receiving our covid-19 training.

“We have a team of 10 at our store.

“Euro Garages who own the franchised site here at Kinmel West and Starbucks have been great throughout our Furloughed time off.

“They have kept us updated at each step and given us plenty of notice to get ready to reopen.”
