THE inquest has been opened into the death of a man who was found outside Llay police station.

John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales (East and Central) opened the inquest into the death of Vernon Hough on June 1.

Vernon Hough, 61 was a former director by occupation and on May 21, his body was discovered at Llay Police Station in Wrexham.

Mr Gittins said the death was reported to him by North Wales Police as Mr Hough was located ‘slumped’ in the driver seat of a vehicle parked in the car park of the police station.

Also on his lap was a shotgun. Initial post-mortem results showed that the cause of death was a gunshot injury to the head.

The inquest has been adjourned.
