A school has been shut down for a deep clean as a precaution, after a teacher associated with a parent who has Covid-19.
Denbighshire county council confirmed the Christ the Word Catholic School in Rhyl had been shut due to the incident.
A council spokesman said it had not been acting as a hub school during lock down, so no children were being taught there.
It emerged the school, formerly known as Blessed Edward Jones High School, will be shut for 72 hours to allow specialist cleaning teams to cleanse and disinfect the buildings.
A council spokesman said: “A member of the public with coronavirus had been in contact with a member of staff (prior to the diagnosis), although both individuals followed the strict social distancing measures.
“There are no confirmed members of school staff with coronavirus, but a decision was taken to close the school for 72 hours for a thorough clean to be undertaken, purely as a precautionary measure.
“Christ the Word School is not one of the hub schools, therefore there are no children in school during the current lock down.”
