A GROUP travelled 100 miles to come to North Wales for a day trip on Saturday, police have said.

North Wales Police said a group of four people had travelled from Walsall to Barmouth. They were reported for breaching Covid-19 regulations and sent home.

Earlier, another driver stopped in Barmouth who had travelled from the West Midlands "to do work on his second home".

He too was reported and sent home

A group of four from Liverpool were also found to have gone to Barmouth for a "day out on the beach".

It comes the same day as nearly 100 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in North Wales in the last 24 hours.

North Wales Police continues to urge people to stay away from the region whilst lockdown restrictions remain in place.
