YOUNGSTERS have been praised for their efforts after taking part in a public speaking competition.
The Prestatyn Rotary contest took place at Ysgol y Llys. This was prior to UK Government restrictions.
As well as Ysgol y Llys, six other junior schools took part including Clawdd Offa, Hiraddug, Bodnant, Y Castell, Gronant and Penmorfa.
The subject topic of the talks varied. They included musical composition, women's football, Australian bush fires, and tap dancing.
First place was awarded to Alyssa Dean, of Ysgol y Llys, who gave a very enthusiastic talk on pageants.
Second place was Tomas Hughes representing Ysgol Hiraddug who did a talk on Astronomy.
James Cumberlidge, a pupil at Ysgol Gronant, claimed third place with his talk on wind turbines.
The event attracted an audience made up of Rotarians, school staff and proud relatives.
