LOCKDOWN doesn't have to mean missing spring for Rhyl residents.

Vale of Clwyd MIND have launched Coronavirus Grow Boxes and Craft Boxes.

A spokesperson for the mental health support network, based on Marsh Road, said: "Are you struggling with the lockdown and not being able to get out and feel you are missing spring? Do you feel isolated and alone?

"We are providing packs which everyone can make in their own homes, and then share the results online. Talk to friends about what you have achieved and compete for the tallest sunflower, the most productive peas or the best cress head."

The Grow Box will contain a couple of pots, some seeds, some compost, support sticks and instructions and can be placed on windowsills or balconies or patios with option to replant in one of MIND'S community allotments after lockdown.

A new craft or art activity box will be released every two to three weeks, containing some supplies and a comprehensive instruction sheet.

There is no charge for a box, but recipients are asked to document their progress via photos on our Vale of Clwyd MIND Allotment facebook page. For a Craft or Grow Box email j.bolton@valeofclwydmind.org.uk or 01745 812461.
