VULNERABLE Denbighshire families will be among those who could benefit from an extra £11 million fund.
The money is being made available by the Welsh Government as part of the Discretionary Assistance Fund (DAF) to help families facing hardship as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
As the stay-at-home restrictions continue, families - as well as people living poverty and those with physical and mental health issues - have been turning to the fund for additional support to help them with some of the financial pressures and challenges they are facing.
Ann Jones AM for the Vale of Clwyd, said “ I am pleased this funding is been made available to families who have been hit hardest by this crisis.
"Many families are on much reduced incomes and struggling financially which is just adding to the stress.
"I would urge the UK government to widen the entitlement for DAF as at present only those in receipt of Housing Benefit and Universal Credit are eligible.
"In the current crisis this help needs to be extended further.”
