THE tractors won't be rolling in this year nor the horseboxes as organisers agree to cancel the 2020 Denbigh & Flint County Show.

The Board of Directors of the Denbighshire and Flintshire Agricultural Society have been investigating ways to continue the show but as the Covid-19 pandemic continues, they said it has become clear the event cannot happen.

The show was due to take place in August.

In a statement, the officers of the management committee said: "We would like to take this time to thank our members, sponsors, competitors, trade stands, exhibitors, volunteers and show goers. Your support is essential to the ongoing work of the society, and in particular now more than ever.

"The society is a not for profit organisation, so we now have to secure the society financially and plot a way to secure a sustainable route to hold the 2021 show and also for years ahead.

"We are contacting all companies/individuals involved with the show, so in due course; everyone will be informed, so please bear with us as we work through this."

It is hoped the show can come back 'stronger' in 2021.

"We will work harder than ever to carry forward the spirit of the county show," they added.
