LLANDUDNO FC’s head of Academy coaching James Parry is keeping youngsters on the right track during the coronavirus pandemic.

All youth training sessions and fixtures have been suspended as part of social distancing measures implemented by the government to prevent the spread of Covid-19, leaving youngsters across the region without a platform to build their skills for the foreseeable future.

Parry has been busy making sure the Tudno age groups are fully prepared with a number of different learning tools to brush up all areas of their game and ensure they are raring to go when they return to Maesdu Park.

He said: “We are keeping in touch as best we can via our WhatsApp and text groups, providing updates when we can and offering our support if needed.

“We're also using this time to try our best to plan for next season, booking in some provisional dates for pre-season, finalising kit and recruitment.”

The Tudno coaching staff have enlisted the help of various digital methods to implement their plans, with different age groups receiving addition specifications to further enhance their at-home development.

“All players have been given our Llandudno Academy moves to work on,” added Parry.

“We also have our Google drive which contains all of our sessions, philosophy, methodology and Welsh way moves for all the players to use.

“Some teams are doing different bits, for example, my U19's have also been given a home training program to keep them busy over this period.”

Parry is uncertain as to whether the Academy season will get back underway following the coronavirus suspension but is pessimistic regarding the chance of competitive action before next season.

He said: “I honestly have no idea when we will be able to coach again, we are just waiting for confirmation from the Football Association of Wales.

“I can understand the view to finish the season in senior football but with academy football it's different. We'll hopefully hear soon but won't be surprised if they cancel the academy season.”
