A NEW television series promoting remarkable stories and landscapes is to feature Llandudno as well as the Great Orme, the Menai Strait and Talacre Beach.

Wonders of the Coast Path will air on April 30 2020.

The series, on ITV Wales, is hosted by Good Morning Britain and BBC Countryfile presenter Sean Fletcher.

A spokesperson for the series said: "Sean Fletcher has explored all regions along the Wales Coast Path and will bring the sounds, smells and unforgettable experiences of the Welsh coast to the living rooms of the UK."

The episode on, which airs at 8.30pm, will show Sean in Talacre Beach going on a night time hunt for natterjacks with Mandy Cartwright from Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust to discover how rare they are and how they were successfully reintroduced to the area.

Sean will then take a tram up Great Orme and down the Great Orme Bronze Age Mine with Nick Jowett. Nick was one of the team who discovered the mines.

Also in the episode, Sean meets up with chefs Liam and Elis Barrie from The Marram Grass restaurant for a beach cook out of fresh Menai muscles and oysters.

Sean also meets RSPB warden Denise Shaw at the top of a lighthouse, to learn about her great grandfather who was one of the last lighthouse keepers to live on site with his family. This is at the Stack Rock Lighthouse and RSPB reserve.

Episode three: Cardigan Bay - May 14

Episode four: Pembrokeshire - May 21

Episode five: The Gower - June 4

Episode six: South Wales - June 11.

There is some 60 miles of sea views from the North Wales path starting from Chester and, at Prestatyn, the Wales Coast Path joins Offa’s Dyke Path, Britain’s longest ancient monument and a National Trail, before continuing through to Bangor.

Walks include Talacre Beach to Prestatyn - via Gronant Dunes and Great Orme Summit Trails.

Due to the current circumstances, everyone should follow social distancing guidance and stop all non-essential travel.
