A MAN visiting Snowdonia from Sheffield despite warnings from Police not to was blocked in on a country road by locals.

North Wales Police (NWP) officers were called to the confrontation, which took place on a narrow lane near Bala, on Saturday morning.

Locals were said to have spotted the Land Rover and trailer travelling through the area, despite warnings not to amid the coronavirus outbreak.

A spokesperson for NWP said: "We were called at 10.12am this morning to a report of a man being blocked on a country lane in Bala. Officers attended and suitable words of advice were given."

Following the incident, Police are once again reminding the public not to travel to North Wales.

The spokesperson added: "You should only be leaving the house for food, health reasons, one form of exercise a day or work (if you cannot work from home). Please visit the UK government & Welsh Government websites for further details.

"Day trippers, holidaymakers - please stay away. The mountains, beaches and countryside will still be here when this is all over.

"Please be reassured that we are still out there patrolling our communities and our roads. A huge thank you goes to all those who are listening to advice and who are staying at home."
