A drug addict shoplifter was banned as a condition of bail from all stores in North Wales when he was freed from custody on Saturday (March 14).

Thomas Shacklady, 39, of Panton Place, Holywell, on benefit, pleaded guilty to three thefts at Rhyl and Kinmel Bay of coffee and alcohol.

Defence solicitor Gary Harvey told a weekend special court at Llandudno that Shacklady stole to fund his drug addiction. He’d been staying in doorways.

Magistrates adjourned the case until Wednesday, March 18 for input from the probation service.
