A COMMUNITY choir which brings joy and friendship to people living with dementia, their families and carers is inviting new members to join in the fun!
The Forget-me-not Chorus, a charity which supports people living with dementia and those who care for them, launched in autumn last year and is a partnership project with Venue Cymru, Llandudno.
The choir is open to anyone living with dementia, accompanied by family members, friends and carers, and is free to take part.
The North Wales choir is led by Manon Llwyd, a talented and respected professional musician from Caernarfon.
She said: “I believe that music has the power to bring us all so much closer and offers the opportunity for us to share some joy.”
The rehearsals connect people using music and song to overcome the isolation and loneliness felt by all of those affected by dementia.
This brings demonstrable joy and a sense of well-being to the choristers while restoring meaning to, and improving the quality of life, of all involved.
The Rhos-on-Sea chorus meets on a Thursday evening at Rhos-on-Sea Methodist Church in Colwyn Bay from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
