Trefnant WI

APPROPRIATELY, for the day before Valentine's Day, it was all about hearts for members of Trefnant WI.

The guest speaker Howard Thomas, a retired paramedic, attended and he gave an enlightening talk about the use of defibrillators that are situated within our community and help with restarting the heart.

He explained clearly what to expect if you have to administer emergency treatment and took away some of the fear of using it.

Every February, WI members nationwide make green hearts by knitting, stitching or whatever to 'Show the Love' for everything they want to protect from climate change.

There were even biscuits this year!

The craft group had produced a wonderful variety and displayed them for all to see.

This month's competition - 'a heart-shaped object' - was won by Edwina Stephen.

Flowers donated by Beryl Roberts were being sent to Mary Evans, who has sadly lost her daughter-in-law recently.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, March 12 and it will be the members' St David's Day celebration.

It will start at 7pm and the meeting will be held at Trefnant Village Hall.

Visitors are very welcome and entitled to three free visits before deciding if the want to become members.
