A PLANNING application for a proposed Gypsy and Traveller residential site in St Asaph will be discussed by councillors next month.

The planning application for the development of a permanent residential Gypsy and Traveller on land off Cwttir Lane, formerly Part Of Green Gates Farm, was submitted on October 1 2019.

Denbighshire County Council has confirmed that the application will be considered at the local authority's planning committed meeting on March 11 at 9.30am.

A spokesperson from the county council said: "During the consultation process the Welsh Government Trunk Road Agency requested further information about noise levels from the A55. Further survey work was undertaken and a report submitted to Welsh Government."

The proposed residential Gypsy and Traveller site features six pitches on part of Green Gates Farm. It will be constructed and managed by the council.

A huge number of responses have been received as part of the consultation period.

One business owner, based at St Asaph business park, wrote: "I believe the proposals have been ill-considered and lack foresight.

"I have serious concerns that the proposals will have a negative impact on the activities of businesses on St Asaph business park. I am also concerned the business park will become less attractive and therefore less able to entice new companies to locate in the area."

The planning report is expected to be available on Wednesday, 4 March. Visit www.denbighshire.gov.uk/ planning – reference 46/2019/0792 for the application.
