AFTER a successful run in Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 The Musical, Love Island’s Amber Davies has secured another top role.

The former Ysgol Glan Clwyd pupil, who was crowned Love Island champion in 2017 along with then boyfriend Kem Cetinay, will play Squad Captain Campbell in the upcoming UK Tour of Bring it On the Musical.

She will be joined by Olympic athlete Louis Smith who will play Cameron.

Amber, of Denbigh, earned critical acclaim when she made her professional stage debut as Judy Bernly in 9 to 5 The Musical and later, on the UK tour.

Posting on Twitter about her new role, Amber tweeted: “Next adventure. So excited [to] announce I will be playing the leading lady Campbell in the First UK Tour of Bring it On the Musical.”

She then went on to post some ‘behind the scene shots’ of a poster shoot.

‘Smash hit’ Broadway musical Bring it On is inspired by the film of the same name, Bring it On: The musical.

It tackles friendship, jealousy, betrayal and forgiveness.

A description of the show states: “Cheer-loyalty and newly crowned Squad Captain, Campbell, should be embarking on her most cheertastic senior year at Truman High School, but when she’s forced to move to the neighbouring hard-knock Jackson High, Campbell fears her life is over.

“An unlikely friendship catapults Campbell back into contention with a powerhouse squad and the fire to achieve the impossible.”

Amber has paid tribute to presenter Caroline Flack who was tragically found dead on Saturday, February 15.

The former contestant posted on her Twitter: “This is going to hurt forever.” She also posted a broken heart emoji.

Prior to her death, Caroline had stepped down from her hosting duties on Love Island temporarily.
