AN ANNUAL festival which has been saved will come back in a 'completely new form', new organisers have said.

Cyclone Events Management will bring a brand new edition of the Wrexham Food & Drink Festival across the August bank holiday on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30.

After the news the former festival run by local business volunteers was no longer taking place members say they could not sit back and do nothing.

They will now be 'proud' to host the event in a 'completely new form whilst maintaining all the best bits the public have loved in previous years'.

Event manager and managing director at Cyclone Events Management, Sam Foulkes said: "We're really excited to be taking the event on, we simply could not sit back and do nothing. I am currently a volunteer at Wrexham Glyndwr Rotary Club, so putting on charity fundraisers in something quite close to our hearts.

"We have supported Nightingale House numerous times over the years including through our events Rock the Park Music Festival and Wrexham Christmas Light Switch On and we're really proud to be supporting them once again."

The festival promises a 'mouth-watering celebration' of the best North Wales has to offer. Producers from around the region will be setting up stall at Wrexham to tempt, treat and tantalise festival visitors.

With tastings, demos, samples and workshops, there will be something for all ages and all tastes.

The festival will once again feature large marquee’s hosting exhibitors from all over county and will also feature a large cooking demo kitchen tent with celebrity chef appearances including a previous TV's Great British Bake-off winner - To Be Announced in the coming days.

The festival, as with previous year will be supporting local charities such as Nightingale House Hospice along with other local charities with profits from tickets and trader ptich fee's the event being donated to these worthy causes.

Sam added: "We are looking to move the event to a new location within the town centre. After attending ourselves in previous years we have seen the event grow rapidly and to continue hosting the event safely would mean the event needs a new, larger location as Llwyn Isaf is no longer suitable especially with the Celebrity guest chef's we have already booked including a previous winner of TV's "The Great British Bake Off".

"Tents were often crowded and the event was almost at full capacity at times, so to ensure people feel at ease and comfortable while attending, whilst giving you ample room to look around your favourite artisan food stalls we will look to move the event.

"The new location will be announced in the coming days as soon as all appropriate paperwork has been signed. We want everyone attending our events to do so safely.

"We cannot wait to welcome the people of Wrexham down to the new edition of the Wrexham Food & Drink Festival in August."
