THE Chester City Baths have launched their January swimming programme, aiming to get a higher number of older people in the community testing the waters.

A special offer this January is for over 50s exclusively.

There will be swimming sessions for the over 50s to improve swimming techniques and swimming sets, or swim at your leisure.

Having already proved a success with the over 60 age group, the pool has decided to lower the age range to be more inclusive to the local community.

It’s never too late to learn to swim and 1-2-1 swimming lessons can include help with your strokes. Recently the Baths helped an 82-year-old swim front crawl for the first time ever.

It will be held every Tuesday at the Atlantic Pool from 10 am-11am and Pacific Pool from 11am-noon.

The Baths contain two pools which are available 21 hours a week for adult leisure swimming. It includes weekday lunchtime (11am-2pm) and weekday evenings.

On Saturdays, they are open from 1pm-2pm. No membership is required to swim. The swimmers can pay £4 and £3 for adults over 60s.

Swimming lessons include helping with strokes or learn how to swim for ages four and above. Filming is allowed if anyone needs expert advice.

During the school holidays, there is an opportunity to swim on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in the Pacific Pool from 1.30pm-3pm.

Family swim times are available every Saturday from noon-1pm. This is an opportunity for young children to enjoy the historic Baths with their families.
