SPECSAVERS has opened a new branch next to the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet.

The store, located within the Sainsbury’s store on Kinsey Road, will be run by Ellie Mitchell, Robert Byrne, and Chris Graham, who currently head up the Ellesmere Port branch. The directors have more than 40 years of optical experience between them.

The new store is set to bring 10 jobs to the local community and represents a £300k investment into Cheshire’s healthcare provision.

Optical equipment will include an advanced eye scanning system, The Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machine, which is usually found in hospital eye departments. The OCT machine can detect eye conditions including glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.

To mark the new store, the Specsavers Cheshire Oaks team hosted a launch event – offering customers cake and prosecco to celebrate the official opening.

The new store will be open seven days a week.

Ellie Mitchell, store director, said: "We’ve been proud to look after the eye care needs of the Ellesmere Port community, so it’s fantastic that we can extend this service further throughout Cheshire.

"Current Ellesmere Port customers will recognise a few friendly faces if they visit us in the Cheshire Oaks store, and we also look forward to welcoming new customers."
